Democratic Party Chairman Martin Lee in Brief West Coast Trip

Martin Lee today departs for a weekend trip to the US west coast, where he will deliver two major speeches.

At noon on November 7, he will give the keynote address to the Business for Social Responsibility's (BSR) Annual Conference in Los Angeles, at the Sheraton Grande Hotel. His speech, "Human Rights -- Good Business Sense," will address why the international business community should be concerned about human rights and democracy. Previous BSR keynote speakers have included Madeline Albright.

The Democratic Party Chairman then travels to Phoenix, Arizona to give the keynote dinner speech at the 1997 Chairman's Summit, hosted by former US Vice President Dan Quayle. The November 7 evening speech at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel will be before a number of US governors and senators. He will discuss "Why Freedom Matters" and review the important links between economic and political freedom. Martin Lee then returns to Hong Kong.
